I left Cleveland around 9 and headed out for Wisconsin. The driv took me all day and had its ups and downs but all in all was a good drive. I got to see plenty of country side as well as big cities like chicago, which was cool (people in chicago drive like maniacs). I arrived in Madison around 6:00 cleveland time which was 5:00 Madison time. I checked into the Hostel and everything went very smooth. I took me quite a while to get oriented and settled in but I felt very comfortable here soon enough. I am living with 5 other guys in my room and there about 14 others staying here as well. I've tried to meet as many people as I can so far and I plan on continuing to do so.

I woke up at aroun 8 and headed out to the work site in Middleton, WI. When I arrived I met with my construction and deconstruction supervisor, Frank. Him and the other volunteers are great people and they trully are invested in what they are doing. We were deconstructing a house today and belive me we tore it apart. Honastly, I haven't worked this hard in a long time, but its for a good cause. I started the day by cutting out all the copper plumbing which is iportant because copper can be sold to metal yards for a pretty penny. After that we took a coffee break around 10 30 and I explained to the crew why I was there and what I was doing. They seemed to be very impressed with my choice of project, which felt pretty good. I then was on wood floor duty. I tore and pryed up hundreds of floor boards (this as the majority of my day). We had lunch around 12 30. Towards the end of the day we had to load up all the material that we had taken out into the huge truck they have, (Ill post pictures later when I have a USB cord for my camera), Loading he material took a longtime even with 12 of us there. By the end of the day we had stripped the house naked. I was dirty and exhausted. Still plenty of work to be done. I am also learning very ast that I have to really be responsible this month. I have to ration my food appropriately, buy things when i need to, wtch me gas in my car, and in general survive by myself. In general, I'm off to a great start.
Travis, this looks great. You're getting a taste of the real world. Good going. Be careful with the power tools. We'll be thinking of you when we do the jazz band show tomorrow. Keep up the good work.
